The 2019 edition of Jazz à la Villette will close with a tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, who died in the summer of 2018. Musical direction of the evening has been assigned to Antibalas, the Brooklyn-based Afrobeat band on the Daptone label.
